Dometic Travel Lock

TRAVEL LOCK SERVICE KIT INSTRUCTIONS:

IMPORTANT: The travel lock must be installed at the correct distance from the edge of the main rafter (DIM “A”) for optimum effectiveness.
Dometic cannot assume responsibility for failures caused by incorrect installation of this travel lock kit.

A. Identify the Main Rafter extrusion in the rafter assembly to be serviced.
The Main Rafter extrusion is attached at the top end to the Top Bracket, which in turn is attached to the coach wall.

See Figure 1 (NOTE: other components—such as the Knob and Secondary Rafter—have been omitted from the figure for clarity.)

B. Measure the total length of the Main Rafter extrusion and find its description in the table below.
Find the corresponding value for DIM “A”.

C. Mark the location of the Travel Lock (DIM “A”) on the Main Rafter extrusion with a light pencil mark.

D. Note that the Travel Lock and Main Rafter extrusion have design features that must snap together.
See Figure 2.

E. Carefully peel off the backing of the tape on the inside of the Travel Lock and snap onto the Main Rafter extrusion using the pencil mark as a guide.

IMPORTANT: ensure that the Travel Lock snaps together with the Main Rafter on both sides.

F. Apply firm pressure to the curved surface of the Travel Lock to ensure good contact between the tape and the Main Rafter extrusion.
